"WINDEA five" extends the offshore-fleet!
Since 01 May 2016 an additional wind park-Tender is counted to the fleet of EMS Maritime Offshore, Van Laar Maritime and SSC Wind EMEA GmbH. The ship formerly “Natalia Bekker” received its new name “WINDEA five” at the end of July within a festive ceremony.
This Offshore-SWATH has been constructed in the year 2010 by the Abeking & Rasmussen shipyard. “SWATH” - Small Water Area Twin Hull – a special ship which is designed in such a way that they have dual hulls and offer with its type of construction the maximum amount of balance. With these outstanding seagoing characteristics this CTV enables deployment and transfer onto offshore wind installations at wave heights of up to 2.5 meters, and is also known for its speed.
The “WINDEA five” will be used as service and transport vessel and is currently in operation in the North Sea. Twelve service technicians as well as all necessary tools and an extensive range of spare parts for the maintenance and service operation in the offshore wind farms can be carried.
